Remember 1690 (V)

Remember 1690 painted on the gable wall
The Union Jacks still flying above the Orange Hall
these symbols of our heritage that mean so much to me
Both make it plain to all the world that Ulster still is free

#chorus#
Since King William fought to gain our freedom
though 300 years have come and gone
Ulster proved true to his example
Give us strength O Lord to follow on

Saint Columns sacred towers high a monument in stone
tell of the brave defenders who dared to stand alone
rock like that mighty edifice encourages our stand
and Protestant resistance throughout our native land

#chorus#

The statue of Sir Edward stands astride a Stormont steep
those who would stand for Ulster like vigilance must keep
these guardians of our heritage raised up in days gone by
inspire each generation with a faith that will not die

#chorus#

To all the men and women of the gallant UDR
Upholders of our freedom in Ulsters darkest hour
for all their steadfast courage and for all that they endured
Our thanks and admiration will be their's for evermore
